Colorful home by lieveheersbeestje Colorful home by lieveheersbeestje
I wanted to draw all the attention to the shell. It's colorful there and everything around it is somber, the ladybug too.. it's searching for some brighter days again. But for everyone there's an idea what the concept can be, this was just what I meant with it. :) Don't know if I did the right thing to make the ladybug black/white too. Let me know what you think. :)

First of all, this is an excellent piece.

I'm personally fond of the black and white art pieces so I may be a little biased, however I will try my best not to.

Due to the black and white and greys of the outside world in comparison to the "Colorful House" this makes it seem as if the world outside is tasteless, sad, and hopeless. On the ladybug, however, because she (or he depending on your opinion) is perched on the house, it almost seems like she was infected by all the blandness in the world, and I feel as though once she enters her house, she will become bright and colorful again.

The house to me shouts "I'm full of life, come and be joyful again!" . It makes me almost want to crawl into the house and see what is inside! It's so vivid and just immediately catches the eye in the monotone world.

On the flip-side, it could be just a little too sweet. Almost like a gorgeous trap waiting for its next sorrowful and desperate victim. If so, here in my mind its more of a soothing voice that says, "Come, here you can laugh and be free, I promise." .

One change I personally would have made is the grey on the top of the ladybug would fade into a bright red the closer it is to the House.

Overall, amazing! I am definitely hoping that I can critique more of your work. Absolutely well done.

Yes, I think you should have made the ladybug red too, as the ladybug in color would have made a slightly bigger impact.
The shell's colors are beautiful, and I like how the colors are perfectly in tune and mix together perfectly.
The black and white also helps to make the colors pop up more, and like I said, it would've been even better if the ladybug were in color.
This is quite original for me, or it may be that I haven't seen a lot of stuff, but I really like this.
Technique is pretty good too, the way you blurred the background helps the color pop out even more, and contrast nicely.

All in all, great. :D
